The Very Latest News

We will continue to hold two worship services (8:45 & 11:00 a.m.) on Sunday mornings through June 23. Begining on Sunday, June 30, we move to one service at 9:30 a.m. for the summer.

We will be stocking the Food Pantry of Germantown Help, and then prepping food boxes to be distributed to familes in need on Sunday January 2. We gather at the Germantown Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. Workers needed!

We will recognize Sunday School Teachers during the late service on Sunday, June 2. This will also be the last day for weekly Sunday School classes for the summer. Special summer classes to be announced. Thank-you to all who teach!

There will be a Mission Fundraiser & Concert held between the services on Sunday, June 2. Funds raised will go to support the mission trip Courtney Streininger is planning to the Dominican Republic this summer. She will minister to children with diabetes. Let us be generous!

DPC members will be taking part in a Habitat for Humanity Build on Saturday, June 8. For more information, please contact Cara Garretson, or the church office. Mission workers needed!

The annual Mission Trip Pancake Breakfast will be held on Sunday, June 9, from 8:00 to 10:30 p.m. All funds raised will go to support the cost of the mission trip.

The Youth Group Car Wash has been reschedule for Sunday, June 30, following the 9:30 a.m. worship service. Our Deacons will also beholding and Ice-Cream Social that same day. Free ice-cream for all who bring a car to be washed!

Our week of VBS this year is July 8-12! Once again we will gather for the evenings of the week. Thanks to Jill Worely for her leadership. For now, please mark the date!

Why I Belong...

It is the Music Ministry that drew me to Darnestown Presbyterian Church in the first place. Singing in my church choir has always been a gift I can give to my church and to God. When singing in the choir at my former church began to feel less like worship, and more like a performance every week, I went in search of a church where I could again feel I was truly contributing to Sunday worship services. My search took me to DPC.

I have been a member of DPC for several years now, and not only do I feel a great sense of spiritual fulfillment singing with the choir every week, I thoroughly enjoy the camaraderie we choir members share every Wednesday evening at our weekly rehearsals. And I have to say that that sense of sharing something significant with my fellow choir members extends to the way I feel about my entire worship experience at Darnestown Presbyterian. It is the people at DPC that bring me back week after week. It's a group of people worshipping and growing together in an authentic effort to know and honor Jesus Christ.
