Worship for Sunday
Rev. Tamara Leonard Lara will be in the pulpit for
both the 8:45 & 11:00 a.m. services
The sermon title is “While Praying”
with Scripture taken from Luke 3 and Isaiah 43.
Newly elected Elders will be ordained and/or installed
during the 11:00 a.m. service.
Sunday School Classes for Youth & Adults!
All classes begin at 9:45 a.m.
Two new adult classes to begin on Sunday, January 10th.
We welcome the Reverend Janet Cornelius to lead us in a study of “The Screwtape Letters” by C. S. Lewis. If you have a copy of this classic, please bring it to class with you, but if you don’t, a copy will be provided. This class will meet in the Parlor.
Our Associate Pastor, Tamara Leonard Lara will teach an “Overview & Study of the Gospel of Mark.” Please bring your Bible with you! This class will meet in the Social Hall.
The Fellowship Hour will be held on Sunday
in the Fellowship Hall at 10:30 a.m. Thanks Deacons!

Officer Fellowship and Training Meeting
All Elders & Deacons are encouraged to gather this Saturday,
January 9th, at 10:30 a.m. downstairs in the Social Hall.
Coffee and Donuts served at 10:15 a.m.
All will be home by noon!

Sympathies
The congregation extends its sympathies to Sheri Dressel upon the recent loss of her mother. The Funeral Service was held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown.
We also extend our sympathies to Anita Goldshine upon the recent loss of her father. Services will be conducted later this month in California.
We hold Sheri & Anita in our thoughts and prayers.

Financial Matters
If you would like to finish your pledge for 2009, or make a special offering to help prevent a deficit for the year, you may do so through January 10, 2010. Please mark your offerings “2009” when you present them.
Confirmation Classes
There will be a meeting on Sunday, January 10
following the 11 a.m. worship service for any youth in 7th grade or older interested in participating in Confirmation Classes - and their Parents.
We will meet in the Associate Pastor’s Office.
If you can’t attend on Sunday, please contact Rev. Tamara Leonard Lara.
Weather Cancellations
If we need to cancel worship due to weather, the notice of cancellation will appear prominently on the home page Church website by 7:00 a.m. on the Sunday morning of cancellation. By that same time, the message on the answering machine at the church will also announce cancellation.
Installation of Officers
Elders will be ordained & installed on Sunday, January 10th,
during the 11:00 a.m. worship service.
Deacons will be ordained & installed on Sunday, January 17th,
during the 11:00 a.m. worship service.
There will be a make-up service for Elders & Deacons
who cannot attend in January, on Sunday, February 7th,
during the 11:00 worship service.
(Elders & Deacons to be installed/ordained will meet with the pastor in his study
at 9:45 a.m. on the day of their installation for preparation.)
The Session calls for the Annual Meeting of the Congregation on Sunday, January 31, 2010, immediately following the 11:00 service. Reports for 2009 from the committees and boards will be received. Deadline for Annual Reports to the church office is January 15.
