This Sunday, April 10, 2011 -- The Fifth Sunday of Lent

Dr. McNeilly will be in the pulpit for both services.

Our Junior/Senior High Mission Fund Raiser will be held on Sunday evening in the Fellowship Hall at 7:00 p.m. Their performances, done in response to your requests, will be followed with a dessert fellowship. All funds raised will go to support the work of the Mercy Health Clinic of Montgomery County.

Holy Week at DPC:
    -- Palm Sunday, Chancel Choir Cantata at 8:45 & 11:00 a.m.
    -- Maundy Thursday Communion at 8:00 p.m.
    -- Good Friday Tenebrae Service (we are guests of Boyd's Presbyterian)
    -- Easter Worship at 8:45 & 11:00 a.m. Easter Brunch between the services.

Good News!

We had nearly 50 attend the Breakfast Fellowship this past Sunday and hear the presentation of Kathy & Larry Welliver, who spoke of their mission work at the Light of Hope School for Girls in Kenya. Light of Hope Mission is one of the many international missions we support.

Already Announced and Upcoming

The Presbytery-Wide Meeting of Presbyterian Women will be held at DPC on Saturday, April 9, in the Fellowship Hall. Our own Judy Wenig will be installed as the Moderator, and Tamara Leonard Lara will preach!

Mid-Week Bible Study for all is held on the second & fourth Thursday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the Church Parlor. Next study is April 14. Locate study materials on the website.

On Palm Sunday, April 17, our Chancel Choir will perform a Holy Week Cantata, "No Greater Love," by Lani Smith at both the 8:45 & 11:00 a.m. services. Please mark the date and join us!

On April 17 we will have an informational meeting in the Parlor after the 11:00 a.m. worship service about our Summer Mission Trip.

A new Adult Sunday School Class: Rev. Tamara Leonard Lara will lead a book study on “The Jesus I Never Knew” by Philip Yancey. We will meet May 8, 15, 22 and June 5. Books are here - contact Tamara to pick up your copy of the book, which costs $11.00.

April 30 – Youth Trip to Hershey Park – deadline to RSVP is April 18.

DPW’s Annual Spring Dinner will be on Sunday, May 1 at 5:00 p.m. Our theme is “Our Mission of Mission.” Join us for a homemade dinner, learning more about mission, and entertainment by the Damascus Theatre Company. RSVP: sign up in Fellowship Hall or email darnestownpw@gmail.com by Sunday, April 24. Fee is $10/woman, $5/child.
